At the Saxelab, I work under the mentorship of Dr. Shari Liu and assist her in her work. As a linguistics and Spanish major at the University of Oregon, I became interested in the processes involved in language-learning and in the relationship between the ways people perceive accents different from their own and the ways they perceive the individuals who use those accents. The Saxelab allows me to explore aspects of learning, reasoning and social behavior from a cognitive perspective as well as study the potential origins of these concepts.
